Favorite Movie Dance Scenes

I noticed that all the dancers except one in my three favorite
movie dancing scenes are wearing black and white (my favorite).
A stunning black and white dress.

I will have to start with the dancing scene between Colin Firth and Julianne Moore in
A Single Man.  I could listen to Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs over and over ...

Who could forget Uma Thurman and John Travolta dancing
in Pulp Fiction?

The first two minutes of this video of Johnny and Penny dancing in Dirty Dancing is a favorite one of mine.
I like the way Johnny dances over to the girl (Baby) and dances away from her without missing a beat.

Two other memorable dance scenes were in Blue Velvet with the woman
dancing on top of the car and the tango scene in The Scent of a Woman.

What movie dance scenes made lasting impressions on you?

My observations, Cindy: Patrick Swayze was such a symbol of strength and vitality that it's hard to believe his life was cut short by illness. Jennifer Grey was already hot before she got her nose fixed.

Three great movie dance scenes that instantly popped into my head are as follows:

1. Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth rehearsal scene from You'll Never Get Rich.

2. The strobe light performance in Flashdance to Laura Branigan's song "Imagination."

3. Perry Parker's (Jerry Blavat's) teens dancing to Tina Britt's "The Real Thing" in the 1988 movie The In Crowd starring Donovan Leitch, Jr., son of Donovan, the 1960s folk rocker.

This was fun, Cindy!

I swear I didn't "copy" off of Clint. This is the first I saw his comment! (LOL)

I never will forget: "Saturday Night Fever" or better the guys after the movie. Every guy tried to walk like John was so horrible and funny.

Thank you Shady and Petra!

Some good videos, Shady. I do love that old tap dancing and who better to illustrate that than Fred Astaire. I enjoyed the video. Flashdance did come to my mind, too. I love watching the 1960s dancing videos/movies. I will have to find the movie, The In Crowd, I liked what I saw in the video. Thank you for sharing some favorites!

Petra, John Travolta has been a favorite of mine and especially Saturday Night Fever. I can still remember the scene of him walking down the sidewalk with paint cans. Thank you again, Petra, for your visit.

Patti, I love seeing Gene Kelly dancing and Singing in the Rain. I watched the video you posted on Facebook, I really enjoyed watching it. It's wonderful now we have the means to find almost any song or scene we want to see.

Thank you, Patti, for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. ♥

One of my all-time favorites is the finale to "A Chorus Line." I was privileged to see this show live at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts a number of years ago.

And heartily agree about Gene Kelly in "Singing in the Rain." That's one of my favorite movies.
