Thoughts of the Day

Artwork by Russ Flint

A big "Thank You" to my thoughtful and caring blogger friends who commented about my recent illness.  I am almost back to 100% and still have no clue of the cause.  Clint and I had been eating totally different foods which has ended up being a good thing since he didn't get sick.

We were told the prospective buyers of our house had their loan approved.  Yay for us, I was glad to hear this.  Since yesterday I have been on the phone with movers and am now waiting on a guy to come for a second estimate.

My neighbor friend Suzan called today, she is having a going away party for Clint and me.  She corrected me when I was thanking her for the "party" and said it was not a "party" but a get-together". Believe me, Suzan and Wayne's get-togethers are parties! Thank you again, Suzan, if you happen to read this.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

The swallows are back today, it is our first sighting.  Clint and I grew fond of swallows since we moved to Texas, they are now checking out an old nest.  I know it is unsightly being on top of a patio speaker but we were so fascinated to watch it being built several years ago.

There are several blog ideas I want to work on, I did make some photos today. I am wanting to share some things about a passion of ours. Passions are what we seem to enjoy sharing in blogging.

One would think getting some estimates for a move would be simple.  We just had a guy come and give us an estimate. Clint is reading about the company online and not having a good feeling about using this company. The guy said he is in the middle of a company name change, we are wondering if it is to get away from some bad feedback.  We are expecting another guy, he has 12 minutes to get here and be on time.  How could we trust someone if they can't even be on time for an estimate?  He was supposed to be here from 3 to 5. Sigh.  Some of the companies I am calling want to give me an estimate over the telephone without seeing our items.

I know I am all over the place on here, talking about one thing after another.  I think now I am going to get busy and start cooking.  I found some fresh okra today and am going to stew some with tomatoes.  I just wanted to say "hello" to everyone.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have a post with some passion. ;~)

Dear Cindy, it's good to know that you're feeling better. You have enough on your plate w/o having an illness to slow you down. I share your mistrust of businesses that don't arrive on time for appointments. We get that all the time here in Florida with contractors, movers, repair services and other enterprises. I can remember a time when the customer was always right but you can no longer find many companies willing to abide by that principle. Those that do are the ones that deserve my business.

Cindy,
Good to see you back. I love the new house, and the pictures of your trip was beautiful. God bless you and Clint with many years of happiness and joy in the new home.

Yeah, I'll tell ya what---these moving companies are really slack when it comes to doing what they say they're gonna do. Bunch of shysters, if you ask me.

Thank you Shady, Susie, Patti and Karen.

Shady, I agree, I keep asking myself, "Where have manners gone?" We actually had two different guys not show for estimates yesterday. When I tell someone I will do something, I make every effort to do it. People don't seem to care anymore about keeping their word.

Susie, thank you for your sweet blessings. We are going to be happier being closer to family.

Patti, you are one funny girl! Yes, one might think the 80 oz. of margaraitas had something to do with my "illness", especially since that was the last blog I posted for a while. To tell you the truth, the margaritas were very weak. ;-O

Thank you, Karen, for your well wishes. I am going to check out your latest blog post in a minute.
