Reason, Season or Lifetime

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

When you figure out which one it is,you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,

it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;

to provide you with guidance and support;

to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend, and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

 Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,

this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,

because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;

things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,

and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

How true are these writings. It's hard for us to accept the transient nature of life. When something or someone gives us pleasure or eases our pain we tend to cling to it. The act of clinging alters the dynamics and the very thing that we wanted so badly to be ours forever vanishes. How many relationships have begun with a flash and raged like a wildfire only to burn themselves out just as quickly? I believe in carefully constructing a fire using the best materials, nurturing it, and enjoying for a long time the radiant warmth that comes, not from towering flames, but from glowing embers.

That's beautiful. What a great post. Yes, I've known people for a reason, a season, and a lifetime. Very special.

Wonderful post, Cindy. Sometimes the reason takes a season or a lifetime to be accomplished and it can be difficult to determine which it is to be and I am not sure it is up to us to determine but rather to live in the moment God has given us and it will all be revealed in His time.

Shady ~ That was excellent and well written, not to mention how true. The relationships don't have to be romantic ones, I wonder how many women I have met and we seem to have hit it off ... it seems in no time it has fizzled. I honestly feel I give it my best but I am not going to force myself on someone. A couple of years ago I wrote a handwritten letter to an old artist friend, it had articles I'd saved to share with her. Never heard a word back. Time to move on and not look back. I like the image of "glowing embers". Hope you and Mrs. Shady have a relaxing weekend! Thank You!

Karen ~ Thank you so much. Clint had called my attention to this little essay and I really liked it, a lot of truth in it. Hope things are going well with you and your photography! You are so talented!

Carol ~ What you wrote is so important, I think we (I know I do) spend too much time trying to figure and analyze people, situations, most everything. We should just live in the moment and enjoy each day. One day the "dimly lit mirror" will be crystal clear and we need to be mindful of it. Praise be to God. Thank you, Carol, for your visit and thoughtful comment. ♥

Clint ~ Yes but you know I have my "beauty" routine a woman has to go through before bedtime. :~) BTW, did you take the time to floss?

Petra ~ The life story of Frida Kahlo is fascinating! My next door neighbor in Texas asked if I wanted to see the movie before she returned it to the video store. I was blown away by this movie and her life. I like the way she was fearless. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and comment! Take care ♥
