A Proud Mama

My daughter, Lucinda Lowe Radford, graduated yesterday from
Tusculum College, Cum Laude I might add!  :~)

She has a BS in Organizational Management with emphasis on finance.

(Please note these photos taken in ambient light have turned out yellow, need to work on such things as
temperature and white balance ☺ )

What is it about those beautiful and haunting strains of a bagpipe?   I had tears in my eyes within seconds
of the beginning of the event!  The sacred occasion began
with Jon Shell and his student, Ben Pollard, entering and playing these
Scottish Pipes.  I agree with a writer who wrote that the
sounds from bag pipes gives him "glory bumps".  Me, too.

Jon Shell told me he had been playing the pipes here since he was twelve years old.

Clint and I agreed, there was such beautiful scenery on the drive to the college
in Greenville, Tennessee.  I don't know how many times I said, "what
a great scene/house for a painting".

I love this old rural scene, one that is becoming rarer these days.

Lucinda's friend, Debbie McCoy, who gave a commencement address
as a representative of the Class of 2011.  They had classes together.

Proud husband, Tracy and son, Canyon.  Proud me!

The Andrew Johnson Museum on the ground of beautiful Tuculum College.
Tusculum is the oldest college in Tennessee and was founded in 1794 by
the Rev. Hezekiah Balch.  Tuculum's beginnings began then when
it was first named Greeneville College.

Tracy, Canyon and Clint.

The happy Radford Family

Lucinda around the age of three or four.

Congratulations to Lucinda on this stellar achievement! Cindy, you are justifiably proud of your lovely, intelligent daughter. I appreciate the pictures of her then and now along with images of you, Clint, Tracy, Canyon and friend Debbie. Your happiness is mine, dear friend.

I am still up to my neck in family and need to get back to them. Yesterday I attended a family reunion with 114 people present! Today we're hosting a dozen people for a cook-out. Please bear with me during this busy, hectic holiday period and thanks a million for your friendship and bloggy love!

What a wonderful day and joyous occasion. The drive through the rolling Tennesse countryside, the scenic farms and barns and horses, the old grounds of storied Tusculum College, the beauty of the commencement and the realization that Lucinda has accomplished something very meaningful.....

Even the ride home was fun!

Sabine ~ How sweet, thank you for the message all the way from Germany! ♥ Hope you and your family are doing well. We are getting ready for some of my family to come over tomorrow and eat lasagne. We are also keeping my six year old grandson tomorrow. It should be a full day! Take care, Sabine.

Tom ~ Oops, I just typed "Shady" and then changed it to Tom. It is any wonder since I have been up since 3:30 AM cooking. Thank you for your kind words regarding Lucinda's graduation. Wow, 114 people at a reunion! It is wonderful that you have that many relatives! I bet the cookout was fun, I am missing grilling out, we may need to do that soon. Back to the reunion, I am becoming more aware every day how my family is shrinking. It is scaring me a little. Last night Clint and I discussed Tiny Tim after seeing your blog. I am headed your way soon for my comment. Hope you all are enjoying your family time! :~)

Shelly ~ Thank you so much, we hope you have a Merry Christmas if we don't see you again before Christmas!

Rhonda ~ Thank you, Rhonda, how sweet. We hope you and your family have a very blessed and joyous Christmas! Take care and stay warm!

Petra ~ Tenerife must be such a beautiful place. I can't imagine living on an island, I do think I would like it! I love the ocean. Hope things are going well with you and your family.

Crystal Mary ~ I love the fact that you are on the other side of the world and "down under" yet you are familiar with my neck of the woods! Yes, it has been quite a few years since i had been to Greeneville. As I mentioned, I saw so many old houses, the kind that need to be painted! (by an artist :-)) Thank you so much for stopping by. Clint and I send love to you and Ray. The past few days have been hectic and I need to head over your way. I hope you all are doing well and if I don't see you before Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful one with your precious loved ones. ♥ Love your beautiful new profile picture.

Hi Cindy dear,
I stop by to visit you this day to wish you and all your loved ones, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I see your beautiful daughter on her graduation day with her loving family.
Congratulations!! I am sure you are very proud of her. Your grandson is lovely!!
I love rural areas, so I can imagine how happy you can be painting a rural setting like the one you show on your picture.
Cindy, you always post beautiful pictures with your natural environment in great TN.
Anyway, I let you know that I'll be going to New York around the Spring of 2012 for a family reunion. I'll be very busy from now on trying to get my health back to average, so I won't be around as much as I used to, darling.
I wish you all the best, Cindy, Clint and all your beloved ones. Happy Holidays!!
God may bless you all!!
Until we write again,
Poet Starry Dawn.

Congratulations to your daughter, and to you as well.

A blessed Christmas and year end season to you and Clint.

Have not been around your blog lately for many good reasons... but now I am catching up and wishing you all the best as another year ends, and a new one begins.

May you continue to experience God's love and faithfulness in the new year that is just around the corner.

Hello Lidia! It was so good to see you again and know all is well with you. I read your most recent Christmas blog post this morning and as I was saying in my comment, I enjoyed your important message and the photos of your family! The food was so impressive and the decorations were out of this world! Clint really enjoyed your post today, too. Take care and hopefully you are relaxing some during these days after Christmas and before the new year. Thank you again, Lidia, for your visit! Hope to see you soon! Love, Cindy ♥
