A Pickle

Frank Kafka
1883-1924

Whenever I get myself into an existentialist pickle, I ask myself, what would Kafka do? Got it! Turn into a cockroach!

EEEKKK!!! I can stand in front of a charging bull, hang on to a bucking horse, tame a wild dog, but I cannot abide the roach. I almost lost control trying to get away from them!

The cockroach is Florida's official state animal, Cindy! We love our cockroaches. Cockroaches are a protected species of wildlife here in the Sunshine State, strictly protected from hunters and trappers. There's even an Adopt a Roach program. That's how I got "Corky." (LOL) I hope all is well with you, dear friend.

You all are making me laugh about cockroaches. When we lived in
Atlanta, Clint got up one night to get a drink of water and passed a LARGE dead cockroach (palmetto?)in the hall and decided to pick it up in the morning since it was dead anyway. Early that morning Clint is baffled, the large roach was missing. Had I seen it or picked it up? Nope, not that I was aware. After searching, Clint suggested I look on the bottom of my bare feet. I almost died, that thing was squashed up in the arch of my bare foot! You can imagine the rest. :-D
