Arise and Shine

Five-thirty am this Saturday morning in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Sometimes I wonder what my neighbors think about me looking up all
the time during all hours of the day and night with a camera?

I'm laughing just thinking about it.  Anyway,
this photo needed more definition in it but
am posting it anyway.

In the morning a man walks with his whole body; in the evening, only with his legs.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

It was good to arise so early this morning. Today I really need to stay in my room and paint.  There is a large indoor flea market about 2.5 miles from our house today with 350 vendors.  I need to tell myself to not go, there is nothing I need but it might be a fun break for a little while this morning.  I don't need anything but if I could still use some incense and bamboo like I bought last year at this time, that would be nice. Oh, and maybe a used copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  My 89 year old mother-in-law has piqued my interest in this book. I could wait and rent the movie from Red Box, it will be released this Tuesday.

About an hour later ... ( sorry for the long empty space below...blogger issue ;-(  )

I did it!  I just walked my two miles and Clint has already headed to the gym.  I like getting my walking over on our little lane, the treadmill bores me to death ... I don't care what I'm hearing in my head phones.  It is so good to arrive at the fitness center and know I can get out of there quicker, that my walking is behind me.

Clint said he might want to go to the flea market, we will probably go in separate vehicles since I will have to go work out afterwards.

Lately I've been thinking about getting older.  I have been wondering if I am ever going to act my age, dress my age and I already know I look my age!  I am trying to fight it, I refuse to totally let myself go! It's not easy and is a lot of hard work.  I look around me and it is so sad at what I see, so many people out of shape. I know I have a plank in my eye and that I need to lose some weight. Last night on Facebook I ran across a woman who is near my mother's age, this woman is 76 years old. She is a life long artist and one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. She has the most stylish and long beautiful hair and I love the way she dresses ... classy and creatively.  The woman lives in this area and I have always admired her. I think genes are responsible for some of it.

Forget that notion of behaving like my age, I have to get off here now to paint my fingernails that Milani "Dress Maker" shade of green for St. Patrick's Day.  {;~)

I adore this shade!

Another lovely photo, although there's no way that I could have been up at 5.30 a.m. to capture something like that (LOL!). Yes, your neighbours probably do think that you're mad, but in a nice way! I think about getting older as well, as I will be 65 next month,. Eeek! Not good, but I am so grateful to still be here, as I have lost too many friends who went far too soon. I would certainly have been tempted by that Flea Market. Sounds like huge fun!

Wow! That was a prompt response, Thisisme! Thank you! I can't believe you are 65, you are a very youthful and beautiful person! Active, too ... I think that is key also. I know what you mean about losing friends and family members too soon. Goodness, I am worried about losing myself with the way some things have been going recently in my life. We need to just be thankful for each day that God gives us on this earth. Thank you again, Diane! ♥

We are definitely gettin' older. Ha.

One of the blessings we have is our many interests---we are always involved with travel, singing, art work, blogs, reading, chess, working out, FOOD (ha) and laughter. Oh, and let's not forget HIM.

That's an amazing photo. Who cares what the neighbors think, right? I been taking my camera into public restrooms that I think are nice because I want to do a post on them one day, and I've gotten some strange looks at times.

As far as getting older, I turned the big 5-0 and it's been on my mind a lot, too. You're doing the right thing. "As a man (or woman) thinketh in his heart, so he is..." I think we beat the aging game in our heads.

Have fun at the Flea Market- I'd love to have gone with you!

Shelly, you made my day telling me about the strange looks you are getting making photos in nice bathrooms! I was reading of another blogger getting strange looks lying in the grass and making a photograph of grass and a flower. I have to share this story about Clint, he was in Whole Foods making photos of the meat department and was told he could not make photographs in the store. All he was going to do was write something positive about Whole Foods in his blog. Also, we have been told at a relative's house, "You can make pictures of us but not of the house". Clint does not abide by the rules sometimes ;-). Heading off to the flea market (Clint is passing on going) with my trusty little camera and then the fitness center, wish you were here Shelly to go with me ... no telling what we might get into if we got together! {;~D}

I am right there with you Cindy, on dressing and acting your age. What is that anyway???? I had to go shopping yesterday to buy some appropriate interview clothes just in case I get one (didn't get the call back for the other one) and everything was either too fru-fru and young-looking or dowdy and made me look like a matron. No happy medium. If you go check out that flea market just look at is as exercise after all you will be walking and that's better than sitting. Whatever you do, enjoy your day.

I love to sit outside when it's still dark, everything is so quiet and to watch the sky, the stars and the moon.

...and now I will wait if you two were at the market and what you bought.

Enjoy your weekend and sunny greetings to you♥

Happy St. Patrick's Day Cindy! I can totally relate to what you were saying about acting/feeling your age. No matter what age you are I think some people are naturally young at heart, like my mother! I do not feel me age of 25 at all! however my sister has always been an "old soul" and has no issues with ageing! It's all about your mindset as far as I can see! You are only as old as you feel!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend Cindy! I am having some friends from Nashville to stay! I am very excited to see them and show therm around Dublin!
