Pencil Portrait of Clinton
Today I am posting a just-completed pencil portrait of nine year old Clinton. Sometimes I wonder if the simple pencil is overlooked as an art medium. It is so forgiving, not like the sometimes uncontrollable watercolor.

Snowy Texas Morn

Today we had record breaking snow in Plano, Texas. It was the clingy kind that makes all the greenery beautiful. Reminds me of snows in East Tennessee.

Water Color Portrait of Canyon
Whew! Getting a realistic image with watercolor can be a challenge. I just posted this on Cindy Ellison Art, my facebook page and described it as a mixed media: blood, sweat and tears with a little watercolor 8-)
Year of retouching photographs have helped hone my face-painting skills but they are never totally easy.
The best part of the portrait was making my son-in-law very happy on his birthday. He said it was one of the best birthday gifts he had ever received.
